The South Walton Fire District is currently seeking a Public Information Officer (PIO) for the Fort Walton Beach Fire Department (SWFD) and is supporting the district's master plan. The Pio will serve to create and maintain a positive public image of our district by providing accurate and relevant information. Activities may include public meetings, community events and other public relations activities. All other approved events that take place within SW-FD are supported by the Department of Public Safety and Emergency Management.

Fire, rescue and medical calls are received and distributed by the Emergency Response Team (ERT) of the Fort Walton Beach Fire Department. This critical position is the first port of call for fire or emergency response teams.
